As of today, June 1, 2021, Google has stopped providing free and unlimited storage for photos and videos uploaded to the Google Photos App on iOS & Android.
And so all the photos and videos you upload to Google Photos will count towards the total 15GB of storage you have available in your account. Unless you have a Google Pixel phone, in which the space remains free and unlimited.
Of course you can buy extra space on Google Drive through the Google One service, for example for €2 you can buy 100GB per month.
What happens to photos and videos uploaded before June 1st?
All photos and videos you uploaded before June 1, 2021 will not count against your GB of storage, and will remain there "forever".
