With many new features such as unlocking the iPhone through the Apple Watch while wearing a mask. As well as the App Tracking Transparency function that the developers should ask for your permission to collect your data!

The new features:

Unlock iPhone with Apple Watch

  • Ability to unlock iPhone X and later with Apple Watch Series 3 and later when using Face ID while wearing a mask

AirTag and Find

  • Support for AirTag to track and find important items like your keys, wallet, backpack and more privately and securely in the Find app
  • Precision Find uses visual, audio and tactile feedback to direct you directly to your nearest AirTag, using the Ultra Wideband provided by the U1 chip in iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 models
  • Ability to find the AirTag by playing sound on the built-in speaker
  • The Finder network, which includes hundreds of millions of devices, can help you find your AirTag, even when it's not nearby
  • Lost sends you a notification when your AirTag is found and you can enter a phone number where the person who finds the AirTag can call you

Emojis

  • Support for individual skin tones for each person in all variants of the couple kissing and couple with heart emoji
  • New face, heart, and bearded woman emojis

Siri

  • Siri can announce incoming calls, including the caller's name, when you're wearing AirPods or compatible Beats headphones, and you can answer calls hands-free
  • Support for group FaceTime calls – just ask Siri to call a list of contacts via FaceTime or a group name via Messages
  • Ability to call emergency contacts via Siri

Privacy

  • App Tracking Transparency lets you control which apps can track your activity on other companies' apps and websites for advertising purposes or sharing with data resellers

Apple Music

  • Share your favorite lyrics via Messages, Facebook and Instagram Stories. Subscribers can play the lyrics section in Messages directly within the chat
  • City Toplists include popular tracks from 100+ cities around the world

Podcasts

  • The Show Pages in Podcasts have been redesigned and it's even easier to start listening
  • Choose to save and download episodes, and automatically add episodes to the Library for quick access
  • Download behavior and notification settings can be adjusted per show
  • Top and popular categories in Search help you discover new shows

5G improvements

  • Dual SIM support enables 5G connectivity on lines using cellular data on iPhone 12 models
  • Smart Data enhancements further optimize your experience on 5G networks through better battery life and data usage on iPhone 12 models
  • 5G international roaming is enabled for supported carriers on iPhone 12 models

Maps

  • Ability to share ETA (estimated time of arrival) while cycling, walking or driving, either by asking Siri or by tapping the route card at the bottom of the screen and then tapping 'Notify ETA'

Reminders

  • Ability to sort reminders by Title, Priority, Deadline or Created Date
  • Option to print reminder lists

Translation

  • Ability to adjust translation playback speed by long pressing the play button

Games

  • Support for Xbox Series X|S and Sony PS5 DualSense™ wireless controllers

CarPlay

  • Easily share POI on Apple Maps while driving via the new Siri or keyboard controls in CarPlay

This update also includes the following bug fixes:

  • Messages at the bottom of a conversation were sometimes hidden by the keyboard under certain circumstances
  • In Spotlight search, sometimes deleted messages still appeared
  • Messages was sometimes unable to repeatedly send text messages in some conversations
  • Mail sometimes did not load new email for some users until the device was restarted
  • Sometimes, the Caller ID and Blocking section in the Phone settings did not appear
  • iCloud Tabs were sometimes not showing up in Safari
  • Sometimes, iCloud Keychain could not be turned off
  • Reminders created through Siri were sometimes inadvertently set for too early in the morning
  • The battery health reporting system will re-calibrate the battery's maximum capacity and peak performance on iPhone 11 models because some users were receiving inaccurate battery health estimates ( https://support.apple.com/HT212247 )
  • Optimization to reduce the appearance of a faint glow that sometimes appeared on iPhone 12 models with a black background and a reduced brightness level
  • Audio routing from AirPods to wrong device when auto-switching
  • AirPods Auto-Switch notifications sometimes didn't appear or appeared twice
