Vodafone announced that it is bringing and commercially available 4G+, the first in Greece, reaching unprecedented speeds for Greek data.

More specifically, the 4G+ network offers maximum theoretical mobile Internet speeds of up to 300Mbps in download and 50Mbps in upload, is an evolution of the 4G network and is based on LTE Advanced technology.

The 4G+ speeds are achieved thanks to the utilization of the new spectrum that Vodafone acquired at 2600MHz in combination with the existing spectrum at 1800MHz.

With 4G+ Vodafone subscribers enjoy speeds up to 2 times faster than 4G and 7 times faster than 3G+. In addition, the company is developing a 4G+ network to offer new innovative services that will enable its subscribers to experience using data services at real speeds many times the current ones that allow greater capacity for sending and receiving large files as well as playback high definition video.

As Vodafone states in its announcement, subscribers will be able to download a 5GB movie in less than 4 minutes and more than 150 8MB songs in less than 1 minute, while they can watch 4K video (Ultra HD video) and HD video on YouTube (video streaming) without delays and crashes.

To experience 4G+, one has only to visit the Vodafone stores at The Mall Athens and Athens Metro Mall. At the same time, Vodafone is giving its subscribers the opportunity to get the Samsung Galaxy Alpha at 429 from 599 euros and live the 4G+ experience.

It is worth noting that Vodafone is constantly investing in the development and upgrading of its network, having invested in the country a total of more than 3 billion euros, while from 2008 to today alone, its investments reach 1.5 billion euros. In October 2014, Vodafone paid €124.5 million to secure spectrum in the 800 MHz and 2600 MHz bands. This investment enables the expansion of 4G geographical coverage, the further improvement of indoor 4G signal quality and the development of a 4G+ network.
